Bodo language is one of the Indian Modern Languages and it is an eight scheduled language in India and also an associate official language of Assam. The Bodo (MIL) and Bodo (Elective) have been introduced in Chatia College in the year 2004. The Bodo department has been imparting quality education to the students since it's introduction. In this year of 2020, Bodo Honours has been introduced by the department. As per the syllabus of Gauhati University (CBCS) the department covers different fields of Bodo literature, culture and linguistic. At present, two faculty members have been sincerely working in Bodo department and many students have successfully passed out with good results in the last semester. We hope a bright future of the department.
